TGNders, a soap opera take using the members of mytgn.co.uk - a mixture of comedy (both about members and other films, soaps etc in real life) as well as drama (who's kid is person x?).
The idea was originally suggested by Zander Version 1.0 - and then taken to heart by a number of people, Zander and dr48 then set about implementing it, with things such as characters, locals, place names and events being decided. This site was set up to help archive the soap, so that all can read it at any point by dr48.
In the early days it was written by Zander
and dr48 with a more soap-opera feel than it has now. As time went on more
guest written episodes were submitted and Zander left the project.
Corinthians9:25 ('Ems') took over as co-editor after Zander retired from
that position and has been involved in a lot of episodes and around in the more
recent era where TGNders became more sitcom based. Unlike the original idea of
soap-opera with a bit of humour as it went TGNders is now almost solely seen as
a poor comedic entity.
dr48 and Ems are Writers-in-Chief but many episodes are guest written (and attributed accordingly on the Archive page) so as to keep the feeling fresh and allow many different writing styles to be explored. This is also another method utilised so as to keep it community orientated (and makes it easier for dr48/Ems to skive off working and still take some credit).
There was an official TGNders theme tune
created, but like many things has been lost to the internet. Requests should be
made on the TGN forums if you want to hear just how much of an abomination it
is.
TGNders is set in the fictional town of Telford, with the majority of action occurring in the centre, known as St James Square. There is a public house, called The Mary Rose - known as 'the rose' by locals. The square has shops, houses, a small park and a market - around which the locals can survive.
A rough guide to St James Square:

The main areas outside of the square are: The Kilnside Estate - where many of the TGN inhabitants live, with houses ranging from posh, to well - piss poor. There is the Hampton Heath to the south where many activities go on - and many younger people spend some of their time, many jobs are provided - from well paid to factory jobs in the Collingwood Business and Industrial Park.
